About

Born in Kiev, Ukraine, Olga Sklyanskaya was drawn to music since yearly childhood. She started playing the piano at the age of six. She moved to Chicago with her family in 1995 after graduating from Glier Music College (Kiev, Ukraine). She received Performance Certificate, Master of Music and Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from DePaul University School of Music (Chicago) where she studied with two prominent teachers, Eteri Andjaparidze and Dmitry Paperno.

With 20 years of experience, Olga Sklyanskaya is a caring, passionate and patient teacher. She is striving for her students to develop their talent and abilities to the fullest potential. Many of her students perform successfully every year in local festivals and competitions.  Her goal is to instill love for music and ensure the students have all the necessary knowledge and skills to continue the life long exploration of music, resulting in fuller and richer lives.

In addition to maintaining a private teaching studio, Ms. Sklyanskaya works as a vocal accompanist at the Bienen School of Music, Northwestern University and serves as an organist at the St. Paul's Evangelical Covenant Church, Franklin Park, IL. She is enjoying performing as a solo and collaborative pianist in Chicago area and in 2011 has been featured live on the WFMT series From the Mayne Stage  in a recital with bass-baritone David Govertsen.
